Ironside Raven & Riot is new.
The people behind it—and the experience behind the keyboard—aren’t.
Our history with blogging stretches back years, through different platforms, different subjects, and very different chapters of life. We’ve written because we had something to say, because something made us laugh, because something pissed us off, because we discovered something worth sharing, and sometimes simply because putting a story into words was the best way we knew to connect with other people.
Blogging taught us how to find a voice.
Ironside Raven & Riot is what happens when that voice picks up a controller.
Why Gaming?
Because gaming has never been just gaming.
Games tell stories. They build worlds. They create friendships between people who may never occupy the same physical room. They give us characters we'll remember years after the credits roll and soundtracks capable of transporting us back to a particular moment with a handful of notes.
Sometimes they challenge us.
Sometimes they give us somewhere to disappear for a while.
And sometimes they involve screaming “WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT?!” at a television at 2:00 in the morning.
We appreciate all of it.
Gaming deserved more than occasionally appearing alongside everything else we were writing about. It deserved its own platform, its own community, and its own identity.
So we built one.
